Difficulties with focus, organisation, time management, forgetfulness or impulsivity can affect work, study, relationships and everyday life. A comprehensive assessment can help you better understand what may be contributing to these challenges.
Plaza Medical Centre offers a GP-led ADHD Assessment & Treatment Service for adults and eligible young people. Our structured, evidence-based approach goes beyond a simple questionnaire, taking into account your symptoms, history, mental health and day-to-day functioning.
All assessments are provided through clinic-based telehealth with Dr Mohamed Almarzooqi, allowing you to attend Plaza Medical Centre and complete your consultation by video in a private consultation room.

ADHD can affect organisation, time awareness, working memory, motivation, emotional regulation and the ability to start, sustain or finish tasks. The pattern varies between people and across different situations.
ADHD is not a sign of laziness, low intelligence or lack of effort.

Who can this service help?
The Plaza service accepts adults and children aged 10 years and over when the initial Plaza GP assessment supports possible ADHD and a GP-led pathway. Many patients also have other health or developmental conditions.
Many people have ADHD alongside other mental health, developmental or physical-health conditions. These do not automatically prevent assessment through this service.

How does this service work?
Step 1 – Reach Out to Plaza Medical
Getting started is easy! Simply contact Plaza Medical to enquire about an ADHD assessment. Our friendly reception team will guide you through the booking process, explain the assessment pathway, answer any questions you may have, and securely obtain your payment details to confirm your appointment.
Step 2- Plaza GP consult
An initial mental health consultation considers your goals, current mental and
physical health, other possible explanations and whether ADHD is reasonably
possible.
Step 3 - Nurse check
Before your first assessment appointment, a Plaza nurse records biometrics
(such as blood pressure, pulse, height and weight) and performs an ECG, which
is a brief recording of the heart's electrical activity.
Step 4 - ADHD assessment
On the day of your appointment, simply arrive at Plaza Medical as you would for any other appointment. You'll be shown to a private consultation room where you'll complete your ADHD assessment via secure video consultation with Dr Mohamed Almarzooqi.
The full assessment includes three 60-minute consultations. The appointments cover your history, symptoms, strengths,
day-to-day impact, other conditions and treatment suitability.
Step 5 - Findings and plan
Dr Mohamed explains the outcome and works with you on a management plan.
If more information or clinical follow-up is needed, another appointment may be
recommended.

Service Fees:
Your Pre-Assessment Appointments (GP attendance and nurse visit) are privately billed to you as the patient as per our standard clinic fees.

For this service, Medicare rebates are available for patients who meet Medicare eligibility criteria.
